I Called Jenny

I have a confession to make: even after saying I wouldn't, even after being adamantly against all of those "packaged food" diets out there, even though I believe strongly in a natural, clean way of eating...after reading Valerie's book and doing some long hard thinking, I signed up for Jenny Craig last night.

I know some of you might be disappointed in me but, you know, I think I need this right now. I think the structure and portion control will help get me started on the right track, and once I see some progress I will be motivated to continue. Right now I feel stuck, tired and simply without self-discipline to do this on my own.

So, today is Day One of Jenny food. So far it doesn't look so bad, and I like the fact that veggies are "free" and encouraged, wine is not off limits (in moderation) and the program focuses on more than just the food - the food is only one of three parts, a tool to help you reach goal. The other components are mind & body, equally if not even more important than what you put into your mouth.

I hope you'll stay with me on this journey, I could sure use the support!

Hugs,

  1. Doesn't matter what we think...it matters what YOU think......

You have to find what works for you! Isn't that all what we are searching for?

  2. Jules, right now I feel like a failure, that I couldn't do it on my own. :-( I'm hoping to turn that around..soon!

    Thank you. xoxoxo

  3. We have talked before about finding out what works for you. For you exercise can be controlled easier than food so if in the need it takes Jenny – SO WHAT. Do what it takes and in the end it will not matter how you got there as long as you get there. I am here for support. ONWARD!

  4. I was totally going to sign up for that this fall when my husband was due to be deployed. He's staying until spring now, though, and I can't budget JC food for me, plus groceries for him. Let us know how it goes! I'm pretty excited for the structure and planned meals when he leaves ;)

  5. I'm with Jules and misunderstood do what you think will work for YOU. This is your journey and I say use the tools that will help to motivate you. You'll definitely still be doing it "on your own" regardless of if it's eating Jenny's food or not because you are the one putting in the effort and doing the work.

I say ONWARD as well *smile*!!!!

  6. Hey, I don't actually know what Jenny Craig is, but i admire you for asking for support.

I am at weight watchers this past 7 weeks and i have done so much better there than i ever did on any effort i made on my own.

I think support is vital, whether you get it from your gym, your doctor, your meeting, your weigh in, whatever.

I hope you get the support you need.
Will be here cheering you on
    xx

  8. Sometimes a structured plan works well...it did for me. I did NutriSystem for 5 weeks, the food wasn't the greatest, but it taught me what to eat and what not to eat and got me on the right track. I lost 36 lbs and I have maintained my weight for 2 1/2 years. I wish the best for you...you will do great!

  12. Good luck with it - I look forward to hearing how you get on.

I definitely think it's worth trying things out to find out what works best for you. I'm working my way through a few different plans now, but I'm not sure I've found the answer yet...x

  20. Thank you, Leah. :) I think Jennifer used Weight Watchers, but that's ok, she does look FANTASTIC! Happy to support all of us girls, no matter how we get to our goal!

  21. I hear the JC food is much better now than it was when I did it in the late '80s/early '90s. I think it's a great plan and you will definitely see results. Good luck! Have a great weekend!

  23. Nope, no way am I disappointed. We all have to find what works for us. It can be a commerically sold program, or not. if it works for you and doesn't turn your pee green and eyes red, then all is good. I have no idea where that lame analogy came from.

Looking forward to good news from you on JC.
