For the first time in a looong time, I am able to report a (mostly) perfect on-program day! I did so well, resisted so much temptation, that I am sharing my
Sparkpeople nutrition report with you:
As you can see, I did have a beer and a bit of "white stuff," but I was still
under my calorie range. Early in the day, I'd decided to cancel Pizza Night, not feeling strong enough to resist the ewwwy gooey bready cheesiness, and opted to make vegetarian chili for the family. I baked them a batch of
Kenny Rogers' corn muffins which, if you're never had them believe me, are the best corn muffins on the planet!
I ate one. That's it. Just
one. If that's not a NSV I don't know what is! For myself I sauteed some shrimp and steamed broccoli and along with that muffin, I was full & satisfied. Another NSV: I didn't eat a bite after 7 pm. That may not make any difference in the weight loss department but I myself hate to go to bed on a full stomach. I feel bloated and out of control when I indulge in that late night feasting.
I felt really good about myself this morning when I woke up and had nothing to feel guilty about (well, diet-wise anyway..wink..) and could start my day knowing that I hadn't failed, wasn't
starting over once again. I know, it's only one day, but that's all we can focus on, right?
And considering how my
morning started out, I'll take all the good stuff I can get!
As for the rest of the day, I'm determined to keep this streak going, hope to share another (nearly) perfect report with you tomorrow. Since
Patrick expressed an interest in tonight's planned
dinner recipe, I took a picture from the magazine to share...I doubt that mine will look quite as pretty but we'll see!
Have a Beauty-Full Day,
Wise choice to cancel pizza night. Why put torment yourself with temptation? :)
ReplyDeleteToo true about only being able to focus on one day at a time. There's a old Japanese proverb which I love...
"Even dust, if piled, can become a mountain"
It's all about taking small steps and just keeping at it :)
I really really truely madly deeply and really need to stop trying to feel "full" all the time. That report card is fab!
ReplyDeleteYUM maranatha almond butter. I get lost without it in my cupboard!
ReplyDeleteMertle, isn't it the best? I put it on celery, apples..everything! ;)
ReplyDeleteRiver, I am right there with you! It's hard to find the right place where I'm fulfilled but not full!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mark! I keep thinking I should get pizza for the family but you know what? They can live without it!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI've nominated you for a blog award! See the details at http://sheshapesup.blogspot.com/ .
That dinner looks SO yummy! I too tried hard to resist ooey gooey cheesiness tonight. All I wanted for dinner was Cheese bread from Papa Johns. Haha! You're so beautiful! I'm glad you found my blog so I can get inspiration from yours!

ReplyDeleteI just came across your health and fitness blog. Your article about refreshing meals and staying on track was especially interesting. I especially liked your comments about being able to splurge (with the beer and "white stuff"), but still maintain under your calorie goal for the day. I am adding you to my favorites. We're in the same industry, the business of encouraging health and fitness. We market a product called The AbStand: http://www.theabstand.net.
